Am I the only one who totally feels like I`m reading a newspaper straight out of Harry Potter when scrolling through Facebook? The auto play feature, where it plays with no sound, makes me feel like I’m reading The Daily Profit, and I love it. While most users may not be huge Harry Potter geeks like me the numbers don’t lie and Facebook videos are incredibly popular.
These are not videos that are already on YouTube and linked to Facebook, they are Facebook only videos. So you upload them directly to Facebook. As you can imagine quick and to the point videos are best, because attention spans on Facebook may be even shorter than elsewhere on the web!
Facebook Videos Get Higher Reach
According to Social Bakers, Facebook video gets 8.7% average organic reach (in comparison a photo gets 3.7% and a link gets 5.3%) and aren’t we all clamoring for organic reach on Facebook these days? Mari Smith
Videos Can Be Quick and Easy
There is no need for expensive equipment to make a great Facebook video. Facebook videos are best served in the 30-90 second range as it is, and you can create a pretty effective and quality video on your phone. Be sure you shoot with your phone sideways so that it appears properly on Facebook.
How to Start Implementing Today
There is no reason you can’t get a Facebook video up by the end of this week, or even the end of this day! Here are a few ideas to get you started:
- Get some natural lighting on the go – point the camera at your pretty face and shoot a great tip for your fans
- If you are totally camera shy, try creating a quick slideshow, record your screen and voice over
- Create a quick teaser intro to a longer blog post you’ve created
